Powder Coat Painting

Powder Coat Painting

Most items we fabricate are also painted, but we will paint items to order (all items will need holes in them to allow hanging). Some of these may need additional preparation, and we can suggest where to get this done, or include it as part of the job (at additional cost and time).

Powder coat painting – Prepared items are sprayed with powder and then heated in one of our two ovens to melt the powder to give a durable, even coverage.

Wet painting – we can supply aerosol cans in your particular colour as touch up paint to cover wear and tear chipping of paint

Undercoating – some items may need to be etch primed or undercoated before being powdercoated.

Red oxide – Structural steel can be painted with a red oxide paint to protect it.

Lacquer – Different powder lacquers can be used to give a matt or gloss finish.

We use the RAL and BS4800 system of colour matching to your specification, please feel free to come in and compare colours if you are unsure of the RAL number corresponding to a particular shade! Our powder colours usually come in matt, gloss, satin or textured finishes.
